The Projects

Birmingham Surveillance (23rd - 29th June 2007): based at the Research Tower, corner of Moor St Queensway & The Priory Queensway, B4 (developed in partnership with the Festival of Extreme Building and New Generation Arts)

The tower acted as a monitoring station for observing the immediate surroundings, we also sent out roving patrols with a Mobile Surveillance Unit and engaged in activites that explored various methods of surveillance, sous-veillance and data collection.

Activites included mass observation of areas around the city; logging times of busses and building a shelter for bus passengers (after they were observed sitting on the fence by the site). Daily outcomes were documented at the Reseach Tower and on a blog, the data is currently being collated and deciphered on the Red Line Surveillance area of the website.
