During the AAS project Xe54, which was a sub-project of The Other Place, we collaborated with Daniel Oliver and Luke Ferris from AuntyNazi. One part of that project was the Pound Shop Mission, for which Daniel made an exorcism kit. In the video that Daniel (Carruth) made, featuring Luke (Sullivan), Sullivan was possessed and repeatedly said the phrase “Sullivan doesn’t like you much”. Following the video, we discussed other permutations of this phrase and I settled on the one that seemed to disturb Luke the most. I am also interested in the ‘anti-oedipal’ nature of the statement. Unexpectedly, the people who smile at me most (as if to say “you’re so right”) are mothers with their small children.
